Riverland baseball player Cody Schact was named co-southern division pitcher of the week and RCC’s Matt Bushbaum was named southern division player of the week for the past week.

Schact, who is a freshman from Giltner, Neb., improved to 4-0 by tossing a two-hit shutout against RCTC while striking out nine and walking just one. His season ERA is 0.78.

Bushbaum, a freshman third baseman from Osage, Iowa, went .667 (8-for-12) last week with 6 RBIs, 3 walks and two stolen bases. He is hitting .412 on the season.
