Norma J. Fretty, 80, Grand Meadow

Norma J. Fretty, 80, of Grand Meadow, Minn., died unexpectedly following a brief illness at the St. Marys Emergency Room in Rochester on Saturday April 13, 2013.

Norma Jean Fretty was born Oct. 25, 1932, in Grand Meadow to Hervey Richardson and Aida (Shaw) Richardson. She attended Grand Meadow High School graduating in 1950. Following graduation, she was united in marriage to Kenneth Fretty on Sept. 2, 1952, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Rural Dexter, Minn. Norma worked outside the home at various jobs throughout the years but her main job and love was caring for her family and watching all of her grandchildren at one time or another. Norma also enjoyed knitting, crocheting and watching her family members participate in school sporting activities. She was a member of the local card club and also the Grand Meadow Lutheran Church.

Norma is survived by one son, Eugene (Vicki) Fretty of Grand Meadow; three daughters, Connie Kielsmeier, Sheila (Kevin) Fretty and Lori (Tim) Larson all of Grand Meadow; 11 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, one brother; Don (Gloria) Richardson of Brownsdale, Minn.; and one sister, Darlene (Dick) Steinhorst of Grand Meadow. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Kenny in November 2008 and two brothers LaVerne and Fred.

Memorial services for Norma will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 17, 2013, at the Grand Meadow Lutheran Church with the Rev. Jim Scaife officiating. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday April 16, 2013, also at the Church. Burial will be in the Grand Meadow Cemetery. Condolences may be left at www.Hindtfuneralhomes.com.
