Bev Douglass Campbell of the South Sudan African Mission, based in Gresham, Ore., will speak at the Austin Church of Christ 5:30 p.m. Thursday, May 2.

The South Sudan African Mission has been establishing churches and extending compassion in South Sudan since 1988. Paul and Marilyn Douglas started the mission when Paul went to Sudan to train men to repair and use hospital equipment.

Among other accomplishments, South Sudan African Mission has established a hospital at Malak to help refugees and is in the process of beginning a school for many children left orphaned by the civil war between North and South Sudan.
