A vehicle burst into flames Thursday while its owner was talking with a neighbor, police say.

According to the police report, the Austin Fire Department went to the 1700 block of 18th Street Northwest for a vehicle fire and extinguished flames on a 2000 Pontiac Grand Prix.

The neighbor saw the vehicle was on fire while chatting with the owner. The owner said he had engine repairs done about a month ago but did not have any issues with the car since that time.
