Congratulations and thanks to the Austin Packers boys basketball team, which has done the community proud this year.

As they wrapped up their season Saturday night in what has to be considered the premier game of any high school basketball season, the Packers exemplified the effort and class that not only resulted in a tremendously impressive record but provided their fans with thrill after thrill. But more importantly, this year’s edition of the Packers have helped create tremendous credibility for the Austin basketball program — an accomplishment that will pay dividends for years to come by inspiring a generation of young players who can hope to equal this year’s team’s accomplishments.
