The National Weather Service in La Crosse, Wis., is expecting flooding and pooling of water throughout much of southern Minnesota, including Austin, and snow Tuesday afternoon and evening.

The NWS issued an updated statement at 5 a.m. Tuesday, and expects some flooding today and throughout the week because of rain and snow over the past few days. It also predicts about a half-inch of snow starting after 10 a.m. Tuesday, with a high near 26 degrees and northwest winds 13 to 23 mph and gusts as high as 31 mph. The Austin area could also get less than a half-inch of snow Tuesday night.
