Linda Marie Nyberg was born March 3, 1951, in Minneapolis, the daughter of Lewis Walter and Audrey (Hedlund) Nyberg. She graduated from Richfield High School and attended Minnesota School of Business. Linda was married to Gary J. Ofstedahl on June 10, 1972, in Richfield, Minn.

She worked as a legal secretary and had also worked at the corporate offices of Hormel Foods. She returned to MSB to complete the court reporting program. Linda reported for several months until Kyle was born. At that time she chose to stay at home, raising her children and transcribing for Gary. She began working in the Austin Public School district and then more recently in Blooming Prairie as a paraprofessional, loving the children and her coworkers.

Linda loved nature, especially sunsets and rises, her gardening, walks, and just being outside, even if it meant playing sports with the kids. She was energetic, always ready to play games or just be silly. She had supper on the table every night, and lunches ready for the kids to take to school the next day. Linda always put others first, never complained, and never quit being a wife and mother. She allowed her children to follow their hearts and encouraged them in all of their endeavors. Linda’s kindness was always present. She was naturally lovable and effortlessly brought joy to everyone she met. Linda was an inspiration on how to be a better person. She also enjoyed serving at Westminster Presbyterian Church on various committees, as a Sunday school teacher, and singing in the choir. Linda loved her lord and his church.

Linda was preceded in death by her father.

Linda is survived by her husband, Gary Ofstedahl, Austin, Minn.; sons and daughters-in-law, Kyle and Emily Ofstedahl, Rochester, Minn., Adam and Rebecca Ofstedahl, Crested Butte, Colo., Micah Ofstedahl, Ashland, Ore.; daughter, Alyssa Ofstedahl, Minneapolis; grandchildren, Grace, Caleb, Ethan and Aaron Ofstedahl; mother, Audrey Nyberg, Austin; brother and sister-in-law, Ray and Cheryl Nyberg, Farmington, Minn.; sister and brother-in-law, Judy and Milo Hines, Ham Lake, Minn.; nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Clasen-Jordan Mortuary and at the church from 10 a.m. Thursday until the time of the service.
