Joyce A. Grever, 80, of Brownsdale, Minn., died Wednesday, March 6, 2013, at Fieldcrest Care Center in Hayfield, Minn.

Joyce Ann Holub was born April 15, 1932, in Black River Falls, Wis., to William and Violet (Law) Holub. She married Kenneth L. Grever on July 28, 1956, at St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Hawthorn Woods, Ill. The couple raised three children. Joyce and her family lived in Lake Zurich until 1974, and then moved to Blooming Prairie, Minn. In 2003, they moved to Brownsdale. Her husband Ken died in April 2012.

A member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Brownsdale, Joyce sang in the church choir. She enjoyed “toll” painting, playing card games and especially spending time with her family. She loved to cook for family and friends.

Survivors include her children, Gene (Geri) Grever of Wauconda, Ill., William Grever of Brownsdale, Alecia Grever of Kenosha, Wis.; five grandchildren Marc (Sarah) Grever, Christopher Boelter, Macayla Grever, Noah Grever, Matthew Grever; one great-granddaughter Sophia Grever; brother Theodore (Berma) Holub of Phoenix, Ariz. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Violet Holub; her husband, Kenneth L. Grever on April 1, 2012; and six brothers.

Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 13, 2013, at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Brownsdale with the Rev. Jeffery Sage officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in St. Matthew Lutheran Church Cemetery in Hawthorn Woods, Ill. The family prefers memorials be directed to Our Savior Lutheran Church in Brownsdale. Worlein Funeral Home of Austin is assisting the family with arrangements.
