Marilyn Lorraine King, 88, of Austin, Minn., died Thursday, Feb. 14, 2013, at Prairie Manor in Blooming Prairie, Minn.

Marilyn was born Dec. 6, 1924, in Grand Meadow, Minn., to Lynn and Opal Wilsie. Marilyn grew up in Grand Meadow where she graduated from high school. She later went on to marry Paul J. King and they made their home in Austin. Marilyn was a member of Queen of Angels Catholic Church. She enjoyed playing cards and hand stitching rugs, but her greatest joy was listening to high school basketball games on the radio and also her favorite team, the Minnesota Twins.

Survivors include her children, Carol King, Albert Lea, Minn., Dennis (Ann-Marie) King, Shakopee, Minn., Lynn (Kevin) Theobald, Austin, David (Deb) King, Austin, Scott (Penny) King, Austin; six grandchildren, Troy and Norie Anderson, Albert Lea, Tracy and Greg Lukes, Austin, Travis and Angie Anderson, Austin, Nicolas Finholdt, Austin, Christopher King, Maplewood, Minn.; six great-grandchildren, Heather, Skyler, Ryan, Tanner and Emmie Anderson, Cale Finholdt; two nephews, Michael, Rochester, Minn., Jay, Byron, Minn.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Paul; parents; son, Brian; sister, Loreen.

A memorial service will be held 1 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 23, 2013, at Mayer Funeral Home with Father Dale Tupper officiating. Friends may call one hour before the service at Mayer Funeral Home on Saturday. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery.
