Delbert Dean Saman, 72, of Portland, Ore., died Feb. 10 after a long illness.

Delbert was born on April 14, 1940, to Tony and Emma Saman. He was married to Susan Carter Saman. Delbert was very active in the musical community in Austin and pursued his love of music throughout his life.

He is survived by his wife, Susan, and sisters Victoria Bjortomt, of Waterloo, Iowa, and Susan Woodle, of Sarasota, Fla. He was preceded in death by his parents.

A memorial service will be held March 2, at St. Patrick’s Church in Portland.
