David Velishek, 60, Albert Lea

David J. Velishek, 60, of Albert Lea, died Saturday, Feb. 2, 2013, at St. John’s Lutheran Home in Albert Lea. Visitation will from 1 to 3 p.m. Thursday at Schoenbauer Funeral Home in Montgomery. Military honors will be provided by the Montgomery area honor guard.

David Velishek was born on Oct. 16, 1952, in New Prague to Francis and Laura (Boldt) Velishek. He worked at the Le Sueur Foundry and had also painted water towers.

He is survived by children, David Velishek Jr., of Forest City, Iowa, Jason Velishek, Forest City; stepsons, Kelly Garner of Hayward and Shane Garner of Mason City; siblings, Roger Velishek of Waterville, Francis Velishek of Maddriville, La., Raymond Velishek of Dixon, Mo., Pat Hlavac of New Prague and Eileen Volk of Klamath Falls; grandchildren, Autumn and Alyxis Velishek, Kia Velishek and special friend, Jackie Nielson.

David is preceded in death by his parents.
