After guiding the Packer dance team to 11 straight state tournaments, Austin head dance coach Jen Sims is retiring from the position, according to Austin High School Activities Director Lisa Quednow-Bickler.

Sims and Packer assistants Marni Rohr, Wendy Fleiner and Jamie Coleman all announced their retirement after the Packers took fourth in the Class ‘AA’ state high kick meet Saturday.

Sure is strange that ALL four retired at once??? Kind of sad for the program actually.. Not sure it’ll ever recoup! Hope so though! It’s been a GREAT program!

Very sad that these girls are left wondering. I think after seeing these girls dance that they will do great again! Very talented bunch of young ladies!!

Must be more to the story if all four are retiring at once?

I agree with the other comments completely. What a mean move for the girls who aren’t graduating. Surely one of them could have stayed around to at least help train in someone new. If I were one of those girls who hoped to return next year I would be heart broken. So strange.

They are leaving behind a very strong group of girls who will do wonderful! They new coach will have some big shoes to fill but I truly believe they will succeed:) as for why they left, each has their own reasons. I think people are reading to much into it

Sorry, but it still is odd that all 4 would quit at the same time. Yes, they did a good job, but this is not very considerate of them to quit at the same time.
