Hayfield boys drop third in a row

HAYFIELD — The No. 9 ranked Hayfield boys basketball team dropped its third straight game when it lost to Winona Cotter (9-8 overall, 2-6 HVL Gold) 61-58 in Hayfield Friday.
The Vikings (13-5 overall, 6-3 HVL Gold) missed three game tying 3s as time expired.
Hayfield led 38-23 early in the second half but couldn’t hold on.
“It was a frustrating loss and our defense was terrible down the stretch,” Hayfield head coach Chris Pack said.
