Golden Age

Chairperson Hazel Baldner started her monthly Golden Age meeting at the Moose Lodge on Jan. 2 by asking everyone to say the Flag Pledge.

Sally Michels gave the reading “Slide Open the Door’s Bolt.”

Dee Murphy made the motion to accept the secretary and treasurer’s reports as read and Marion Zimmerman seconded the motion.

Mang Durben, Sunshine Lady, sent Xmas cards to Arnold Bengstrom and Helen Broitzman and a sympathy card to Betty Oelkens for the death of her brother.

January birthdays will be celebrated by Eloise Williamette, Mary Durben, Joy Clark, Dorothy Shloo.

Cards (500) were played at nine tables. Joy Clark furnished the lunch.

 Duplicate Bridge

Tournament results for Jan. 2 with 4 tables played: first, Orrion Roisen and David Ring; second, Romelle Enderson and Marilyn Gesme tied with Bud Higgins and Loren Cleland; fourth, Georgia Bissen and Edna Knobbe.

Duplicate Bridge is played each Wednesday at 12:30 p.m. at the Village Cooperative in Austin, 2301 10th St. NW, Exit 177 off I-90, two blocks north of Walmart. All Bridge players are welcome. Call Dave Ring at 507-434-4189 for partnership assistance or additional information.
