Packer girls hockey team tops Albert Lea

The Packer girls hockey team picked up a solid home win when they beat Albert Lea (9-10 overall, 6-7 Big Nine) 2-1 in Riverside Arena Tuesday.

Carley Grunewald scored both goals for Austin (5-15 overall, 4-9 Big Nine), including a shorthanded score that made it 2-1 in the second period.

“It was a hard fought battle and both teams passed well,” Austin head coach Denny Bray said. “The goaltending was good on both sides.”

Allison Hoban had 27 saves in the win and the Packers tallied 35 shots.
