Austin’s newest family restaurant will open its doors tomorrow morning — and ahead of schedule.

Olivia’s Family Restaurant, formerly Jerry’s Other Place, will open at 8 a.m. Wednesday and stay open until 9 p.m. The diner at 1207 N Main St. will offer homemade soups and specials, and breakfast all day.

“Everyone seems to be pretty excited,” said owner Olivia Hughes. “We’re really looking forward to opening our doors.”

Olivia Hughes owns the restaurant with her husband, Logan Hughes. The two, who live in Owatonna, own a restaurant there by the same name.

Olivia’s menu will offer a wide variety of family recipes, with everything from sandwiches, burgers and steaks, to Italian, pastas, and breakfast food. Olivia’s regular hours are 6 a.m. to 9 p.m., seven days per week. The diner does not have a bar.

Olivia Hughes said they are still accepting applications, and hope to hire 25 to 30 people. Those interested can pick up an application at the Austin AmericInn or Olivia’s. The phone number is 507-396-8400.
