No. 7 Vikings fall to No. 5 Bears

HAYFIELD — The Hayfield boys basketball team couldn’t keep up with No. 5 ranked Byron (14-1 overall, 7-0 HVL Gold) in a 62-45 loss in Hayfield Tuesday.

The No. 7 ranked Vikings (13-3 overall, 6-1 HVL Gold) trailed by 10 with five minutes left when Cole Kruger, who scored 15 points, fouled out.

Hayfield was also playing without Brady Kramer due to an injury.

“We had way too many turnovers and we missed too many free throws,” Hayfield head coach Chris Pack said. “We know we can play better.”
