Larson scores game winning goal for Packer boys

ROCHESTER — The Packers had a late answer as they beat Rochester John Marshall (3-11 overall, 2-5 Big Nine) 3-2 in a boys hockey game in Rochester Saturday.

Ethan Larson scored the game-winner for the Packers (5-7 overall, 2-4 Big Nine) on a powerplay with 43 seconds left in the game, just two minutes after the Rockets had tied things up at 2-2 on a goal by Alec McGinn.

Rainer Londino-Green stopped 33 shots for the Packers, who had 23 shots on goal.

The Packers have now won more games than they did all of last season and they’ve tallied two Big Nine wins for the first time in at least five years.
