OWATONNA — The Austin boys hockey team scored first, but it couldn’t hold off a first period Owatonna rally in a 3-1 loss on the road Thursday.
The Huskies (9-7 overall, 6-3 Big Nine) scored three times in the first period, with two of those goals coming on powerplays.
Austin’s Marcus Stoulil put the Packers (5-9-1 overall, 2-6 Big Nine) on the board with a goal that came 31 seconds into the game.
“When were five-on-five we were right right with them,” Austin head coach Erik LaRok said. “It was a good game, but in the first period started slow.”
Rainer Londino-Green had 39 saves for the Packers, who had 19 shots on goal.
