Hayfield girls fall to No. 2 Panthers

HAYFIELD — The Hayfield girls basketball team had a five-game winning streak snapped when it lost 59-47 to No. 2 ranked New Richland-HEG (10-1 overall) in Hayfield Saturday.

The Vikings (8-4 overall) pulled to within five points and they had the ball with five minutes left, but they committed a turnover and NRHEG’s Carlie Wagner scored back-to-back field goals to put it away.
