HAYFIELD — The Hayfield girls basketball team stepped up its defense in a 48-39 win over Winona Cotter (6-9 overall, 2-3 HVL Gold) in Hayfield Tuesday.

Dani Wagner scored 17 points for the Vikings (11-5 overall, 4-1 HVL Gold).
