BYRON — The Hayfield girls basketball team moved into second place in the HVL Gold when it beat Byron (11-4 overall, 4-3 HVL Gold) 59-51 on the road Tuesday.

Jo Bungum went 5-for-8 on 3-pointers and poured in 21 points to lead the Vikings (12-6 overall, 5-2 HVL Gold).

“Byron’s a solid team and it was a nice win for us,” Hayfield head coach Fred Kindschy said. “We shot well and we took care of the ball.”
