Dorothy Mae Bellrichard, 87, Austin

Dorothy Mae (Sathre) Bellrichard, 87, of Austin, Minn., went to be with the Lord on Sunday, Jan. 20, 2013. She passed peacefully surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on July 20, 1925, in Austin to John and Bertha Sathre. She grew up in Austin and graduated from Austin High School. She married Basil (Sparky) Bellrichard on April 24, 1948, in Austin. She was employed at Hormel until the birth of their first child and was a stay-home mom.

Dorothy was a member of St. Olaf Lutheran Church where she was baptized, confirmed and married. She was active in Circle and the annual fall Bazaar, making lefse and in charge of the desserts. She enjoyed dancing, cooking, baking and making many Norwegian treats and was an avid lover of lutefisk. She enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren and teaching them how to make lefse. She spent many hours crocheting and making baby blankets for all the nieces, nephews and grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband; son Mark (Cindy) Bellrichard; daughter Ann (Rod) Hanson; seven grandchildren, Kathy, John, Todd, Allison and Scott Bellrichard, and Denise and Gail Hanson; three great-grandchildren Anna, Tyler, and Karter; three sisters, Donna (TJ) Williams, Joan (Tom) Adams and Ann (Gary) Eppen; one brother, Harvey (Alice) Sathre; two sisters-in-law, Joanne (Maynard) Sathre and Marie (Stan) Thomas; and one brother-in-law, Byron (Helen) Huseby.

She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers and sisters-in-law, Paul (Alice) Sathre and Bill (Morna) Sathre; one sister, Helen Huseby; and one brother, Maynard Sathre.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 24, 2013, at St. Olaf Lutheran Church, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Casket bearers will be grandchildren Kathy, John, Todd, Allison and Scott Bellrichard, and nephew Peter Eppen. Honorary casket bearers are granddaughters Denise and Gail Hanson. Interment will be held at Grandview Cemetery in Austin. Memorials can be made to a charity of the donor’s choice. Arrangements are by Mayer Funeral Home and condolences may be sent to www.mayerfh.com.
