John “Jack” C. Munson, 80, of Iola, died Friday, Jan. 18, 2013.affair

John was born in St. Paul, Minn., on Aug. 25, 1932, the son of the late Harry and Dorothy (Mrozack) Munson. John married Shirley House on Aug. 25, 1956, in St. Paul. He graduated from Harding High School in St. Paul. Jack served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He was an avid stamp collector and reader, and enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time outdoors.

Jack and Shirley moved to Iola in 1993, where he was employed by Krause Publications until his retirement in 2000. He is survived by his wife, Shirley Munson of Iola; children, Cheryl (Richard) Howard of Hollandale, Minn., Julie (Richard) Guckeen of Austin, Minn., Linda (Jeff) Mullenbach of Glencoe, Minn; grandchildren, Evie, Angie, Laura, Daniel, Jordan, Ronni Jean; seven great-grandchildren; brother, Harry Munson Jr.; sisters, Dorothy Thompson and Mary Jane Munson all of St. Paul.

A memorial service will be held at the Voie Funeral Home, 120 S Main St. in Iola at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 26, 2013, with Marcia Sabin officiating.
