Grace Arlene Ovrebo, 81, of Bricelyn, died Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2013, at Parkview Care Center in Wells. A memorial service will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Bricelyn Lutheran Church in Wells. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday. The Rev. Arne Halbakken will officiate and interment will be in Bricelyn Lutheran Cemetery.senior

Grace Arlene was born May 12, 1931, in Amboy, the daughter of Harold and Hilda (Velta) Haroldson. She was united in marriage to Orvis Milton Ovrebo on Oct. 24, 1953, in Amboy. Grace attended Ridge School Elementary country school in rural Amboy and graduated from Amboy High School, the class of 1949. Grace grew up on a farm in rural Amboy and upon marrying Orvis, moved to a farm near Bricelyn. The couple later moved to a farm in Emmons and after retirement returned to Bricelyn. She attended Kahler School of Nursing and graduated in 1952 as a registered nurse. Grace worked as an RN in Albert Lea at Naeve Hospital and at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home as well as St. John’s Lutheran Home. Grace was a good Norwegian and liked her lutefisk and oyster stew. She also enjoyed travelling and speaking at the Legion Auxiliary about prominent women in history. She was very active in her church and church circle and enjoyed helping people. She also loved spending time with her family.
Grace is survived by her children, Gregory Ovrebo of Beltsville Md., Debra (Michael) Walker of Paducah Ky., Daniel Ovrebo of St. Paul, Jeffrey (Maria) Ovrebo of Portland Ore., Jonathan Ovrebo of Bricelyn; three grandchildren, Jordan, Ryan and Anastasia Walker; sister Betty Caldwell of Silverthorn Ore.; and many cousins, nieces and nephews along with their families.
She was preceded in death by her parents Harold and Hilda; husband Orvis Milton; brothers, Alton, Harland, Chester, George, Leo, Harold and Donald; sisters, Florence Godfrey and Alice Dobbe.
