Plenty of holiday shows upcoming

Published 4:42pm Saturday, December 1, 2012

The holidays are hopping at the Historic Paramount Theatre with two big events everyone is sure to enjoy.

The nearly sold out event “Swingin’ into Christmas” is at 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8.

In the style of a 1940s radio show, this great event will feature an extensive amount of Austin talent including: Michael Veldman, Erin Schumacher, Dylan Kaercher, Teiler Miller, Austinaires, Choralaires, The Swing Sisters, Jordan Bentley and many more.

In fact, there are over hundred performers in the show. All the participants are donating their time and energy to this special one night only event, which is raising much needed funds for the Freeborn-Mower Red Cross Chapter. There will even be a free dessert reception sponsored by DarCan Foods prior to the event at 6 p.m.

More fun holiday entertainment will be on the Paramount stage at 4 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 9 with Home Free Christmas.

Home Free is a Twin Cities based a cappella group that was last seen this past October performing in Osage, Iowa.

With a sound similar to Tonic Sol-fa, they consider themselves a vocal band. They recreate the entire band experience by engaging audiences in a rich blend of harmonies while entertaining them in good clean audience participation activities.

Their holiday concert “Home Free Christmas” is an awe-inspiring, fun-filled show packed with unforgettable moments the whole family can appreciate.

It features a harmonic array of beloved Christmas classics amidst an extravagant light show and a flurry of other surprises.

Tickets for both of these events can be purchased at paramounttheatre.org or by calling 434-0934.
