The Packers took first in 10 of the 11 events as they beat Albert Lea 97-67 in their season opener in Ellis Middle School Thursday.

Nick Brehmer took first in the 100- and 200-yard freestyles, Sawyer Myers took first in the 200-yard individual medley and the 500-yard freestyle, Craig Heimark took first in the 50-yard freestyle, Alec Anderson took first in diving, and Alex Laury took first in the 100-yard backstroke.

The 200-yard medley relay team of Heimark, Chris Brown, Ben Caroll and Carson Hackel took first, the 200-yard freestyle relay team of Hackel, Brown, Ian Christopherson and Brehmer took first and the 400-yard freestyle relay team of Heimark, Christopherson, Myers and Brehmer took first.
