APPLE VALLEY — The Austin Packer dance team opened its season with a second place finish in high kick at the Apple Valley Dance Invitational Saturday.

Austin head coach Jen Sims said the Packers’ scores were some of the best the team has achieved this early in the season.

“We are off to a great start,” Sims said. “We compete next week at Lakeville North and will be competing against several AAA teams. It will be another good test of how well we are progressing as a team.”
