Man in head-on crash dies

A 49-year-old Mankato man injured Monday in a head-on collision on Minnesota Highway 109 has died, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

Ronald L. Hinderman had been transported by helicopter to Regions Hospital in St. Paul after the crash at 12:45 p.m. Monday.

Hinderman was reportedly driving a 2004 Chevrolet Cavalier westbound on Highway 109 between Alden and Wells when he collided with a 2003 GMC Sierra pickup driven by Jared Bowman, 23, of Albert Lea.

It is unclear which driver crossed the center line. The State Patrol is investigating.
