Kelly A. Deike, 58, of Austin, Minn., died peacefully at his home on Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2012.

Kelly was born May 20, 1954, in Austin to Leonard and Dorothy (Severson) Deike. Kelly grew up in Austin, graduating from Austin High School in 1972. He then attended the Albert Lea Vocational Technical Institute, graduating in 1976 in mechanical drafting. After working in Albert Lea, Red Wing, Texas, then Salt Lake City, Utah, Kelly returned to Minnesota and worked as a contract draftsman. He enjoyed shooting, canoeing, traveling, tinkering and fixing things. Kelly belonged to a group called La Compagnie des Hivernants de la Riviere Saint Pierre (the Company of the Winterers of the Saint Peter’s River). This group took part in historical reenacting. Kelly enjoyed seeing different things in his travels.

Survivors include one brother, Scott (Luz) Deike of Ogden, Kan.; special friends Gayle Wyant, Marjorie Feinberg, Julie M.; many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Dorothy Deike.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2013, at Worlein Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Lindsay Stolen officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
