ALBERT LEA — The Austin girls hockey team fired off plenty of shots, but it still came up short by a score of 7-1 at Albert Lea Tuesday.

AL goalie Katie Schwartz stopped 37 of the 38 shots she saw.

“Schwartz played one heck of a game and we couldn’t get anything by her,” Austin head coach Denny Bray said.

Myia Hoium scored a second period goal for the Packers (1-7 overall, 0-4 Big Nine) to make it a 4-1 game, but the Tigers (6-3 overall, 4-1 Big Nine) tacked on four third period goals to put it away.

Mara Overby had 32 saves for Austin.
