Donald Hultquist Loucks, 87, passed away on Dec. 20, 2012 in Dallas.

Donald was born July 1, 1925, in Amery, Wis., to Fred and Ethel (Hultquist) Loucks. He grew up on a farm in Spring Valley, Minn., and graduated from high school there. He held a variety of jobs throughout his life he was an iceman, a milkman, mason, worked at George A. Hormel meatpacking plant, plowed snow in the winter and was a carpenter and cabinetmaker. He married Charlotte E. Asher on June 1, 1947, and they were married for 27 years. In 1967, the family moved to Siloam Springs, Ark., where they owned and managed the Hereford Motel.

From there, they relocated to Pine Bluff, Ark., where they owned and managed apartments. In 1970, they moved to Balch Springs, Texas, where Donald worked for Graybilt Construction company and later was self-employed doing woodworking and other construction jobs. He was married four more times to Lois Tillary, Mary Canning, Beverly Holmes and his current wife, Claretta Evans. Don was honest, dedicated, hard working, loyal to family and friends, and didn’t know the meaning of can’t. He enjoyed old Westerns, comedies and game shows on TV, going to the Winstar Casino, eating out, walking his beloved little Pepper, fixing things and being in charge.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, George F. Loucks and Gordon B. Loucks; and wives, Charlotte, Lois and Mary. He is survived by two sisters, Merle (Loucks) Sample of Mesa, Ariz., and Elaine (Loucks) Stockdale of Ostrander, Minn.; his wife, Claretta (Evans) Loucks; children, Cindy (Loucks) D. Zisner of Mesa, Shale D. Loucks of Mesquite, Texas, Jodie (Loucks) L. Khan of Garland, Texas, and Wade A. Loucks of Balch Springs, Texas; 11 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
