The county board voted to appoint Joy Kanne to replace assessor Rich Peterson.

Kanne is currently an appraiser in the assessor’s office, where she’s worked for about 15 years.

The board appointed Kanne to a two-year term. She has all the required appraiser licenses except one senior assessor status. She should be fully certified by around September, which county officials say is well within state limits.
