KASSON — It took a little while for the Packers to heat up, but when they got going they put away Kasson-Mantorville (1-1 overall) in an 88-54 win in their boys basketball opener on the road Saturday.

The No. 2 ranked Packers (1-0 overall) connected on 8 of their 11 three-point attempts in the second half as they rolled to a win.

“It was a typical first game,” Austin head coach Kris Fadness said. “We were a little sloppy in the first half, but we got going in the second half.”
