Ann Louise Patrick, 81, Grafton, Iowa

Ann Louise Patrick, 81, of rural Grafton, Iowa, died on Friday, Dec. 28, 2012, at the St. Ansgar Good Samaritan Center, St. Ansgar, Iowa.

Ann was born on Aug. 30, 1931. Her parents were Arthur T. and Joyce (Flom) Christenson. She grew up in Edina, Minn. Ann married Donald E. Patrick on March 21, 1952, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Edina, Minn. They lived at Goldstone, Mont., then moved to Grafton.

Ann is best known for her large batches of homemade bread and caramel rolls. She was known to go down the list of names of her children when calling one of them, but mentioning every ones name except for the one she intended to call. She had some vises in her life, Pepsi and chocolate were a couple. Ann, as her mother taught her, carried on the tradition of Christmas Wheatie’s cokkies and green bean casserole.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Bruce Christenson.

Ann is survived by her husband, Donald E. Patrick , Grafton; children and grandchildren, Debby (Donald) Arrett, Gordonsville, Minn., their son, Chad Patrick, Clear Lake, Iowa, and his daughter, Gracie Patrick; Daniel Patrick, Grafton; Dwight Patrick, Denver, Colo., and daughters Shelly Patrick and Teresa Suydam, both of Denver; David Patrick, Carpenter, Iowa, and son, Tyler Patrick , Osage, Iowa; Diane (Robert) Ackerman, Highland, Wis., and children Kendra (Kevin) Kruse, Loganville, Wis., Nathan Ackerman, Milwaukee, Wis. and his children, David and Jacky, DeForest, Wis., Kenneth Ackerman, Logan, Wis.; Donna (Ramon) Tirado, Colorado Springs, Colo., and son, Ramon Jr. and fiancé, Erin, Woodstock, Ga., Daniel Tirado, Colo Springs, Co.; niece Gwen (Mike) Rosengarten, Washburn, Wis., and nephew Bruce A. (Lindsey) Christenson, Portland, Ore.

Funeral service will be on Monday, Dec. 31, 2012, at 2 p.m. at Our Saviors Lutheran Church, Lyle, Minn., with the Rev. Barbara Finley-Shea officiating. Burial will be in the Grafton Cemetery, Grafton. Visitation is scheduled from 12:30 p.m. until service time on Monday at the church. Schroeder & Sites Funeral Home of St. Ansgar, Iowa, is in charge of arrangements.
