County assigns $500K to build new grandstand

The county board is preparing for a new grandstand, though the old one has yet to be demolished.

The board voted to assign $500,000 toward a new grandstand, among other assigned funds.

County officials say preliminary estimates for a 1,000-seat grandstand with a roof, seat-backs and a small press box would run about $428,000, with a 1,500-seat grandstand costing about $620,000 and a 2,000-seat structure running about $813,000. County Coordinator Craig Oscarson told the board the Mower County Fair Board was looking to build at least a 1,500-seat grandstand to replace the old one.

Spend, Spend, Spend! Oh man I just love paying taxes! Oscarson’s still running things I see, I was hoping that would change with a newer board!

So what else do you propose? Setting up folding chairs?

Yeah, Mower County residents are so over-taxed. Last I heard this county was either 85th or 86th out of 87 counties in the state of MN for tax rates. Like I’ve said before, people that don’t believe in paying taxes shouldn’t be living in this country. Nothing is free, and certainly not our precious military-industrial complex. We spend more on our military than something like China, Russia, Germany, Japan, the UK, and the other 17 largest countries COMBINED. Talk about spending.
