Southland High School students gathered Thursday morning at Target and ShopKo to purchase more than $2,000 worth of toys for Toys for Tots. “The students are so excited for this and they can’t wait to help children in need,” said Katie Jakubek, student council advisor at Southland, before the outing. Fourteen students led the fundraising efforts, which will go toward helping children in need. “Although we are a small school, our students have made an incredible difference,” Jakubek said.
