Long-time Paramount Theatre employee Scott Anderson may not be general manager any more, but he is still involved with the Paramount, according to the Austin Area Commission for the Arts.

Anderson, who has been a part-time employee for more than two decades, became an independent contractor at the end of last month due to staff redistribution, according to AACA officials. Anderson will still be at the Paramount to work on technical aspects of various productions as needed.

“The idea is that he’s going to be involved on the tech side of things,” AACA chairman Dave Sylte said.

AACA hired Jennie Knoebel last year as a full-time executive director to help with Paramount operations and to spearhead efforts for a Paramount expansion.

Anderson did not return calls for comment.
