Paramount features a week for the holidaysPublished 6:22pm Saturday, November 17, 2012
The Historic Paramount Theatre is ringing in the holidays with a week full of events perfect for the season.
At 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday the Mower County Humane Society presents it’s annual Comedy Night. This year’s event features a range of Minnesota comedians including Tiffany Norton, Adam Wheeler, Chris Delman and “Goobs.”
It will be hosted by Scott Oelkers and the Austin Jaycees will be selling drinks.
Tickets are $10 in advance, and $12 at the door. Then, at 7 p.m., on Friday, we will be joining in the Christmas in the City festivities with a preview performance of “Swinging into Christmas” and the Jane Taylor Dance Academy will present Tchaikovsky’s “Nutcracker Suite.”
This event is free for all to enjoy. The week will wrap up with a first time tour to Austin of Minnesota Theatre Company’s “Forever Christmas XXII” at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 24 and 2 p.m. on Nov. 25.
Tickets are $15 in advance and $17 at the door.
Presented for the past 21 years in Rochester, “Forever Christmas” is a chance for audiences to celebrate the charitable and timeless traditions of Christmas.
It is a fantastic mix of holiday music and comedy featuring six local, talented actors including Katie Hawley, Debra Olson, Lenore Marcotte, Brian Gorman, Scot Schwark, and Tom Theisen.
The show has been seen by thousands of audience members from across the region. Past audience members have described the show as high energy, and that there was never a moment they weren’t smiling.
Don’t miss the chance to see this wonderful event so close to home.
