Karen Lynn Janovec, 47, of River Falls, Wis., died Friday, Nov. 23, 2012, at the River Falls Area Hospital in River Falls.

Karen was born on July 12, 1965, in Austin, Minn., the daughter of James and Janice (Anderson) Ingersoll. She married Brian Janovec on May 9, 1992, in Austin, and worked as a legal secretary until she and Brian began raising their family. Karen was a member of Ezekiel Lutheran Church, active in the Altar Guild and Bible Study. She was her boys’ biggest cheerleader. She loved to watch football (Vikings) and loved to play games.

Karen is survived by her husband, Brian; sons, Jack and Alec; mother, Jan Ingersoll; sister, Ruth (John Warneke) Emerson; brother, Jim (Wendy) Ingersoll; parents-in-law, Paul and Mary Ann Janovec; brothers and sisters-in-law Rodney (Lori) Janovec, Jeffrey (Amy) Janovec and Mark (Tracy Blevins) Janovec. She is further survived by nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her father James Ingersoll and brother-in-law Steve Emerson.

Funeral services for Karen were held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2012, at Ezekiel Lutheran Church, River Falls. Burial was in the Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation was for one hour prior to the funeral at the church on Tuesday. Cashman-Hill Funeral Home & Cremation Services, River Falls, is serving the family.
