Hormel named friend of military

Hormel Foods Corp. is a officially a friend of the military.

Hormel Foods Corp. announced Monday it has been recognized for the first time by G.I. Jobs magazine as one of America’s Top 100 Military Friendly Employers. The company debuted at No. 59 on the list. G.I. Jobs magazine’s Top 100 list was drawn from a sample of 5,000 companies whose annual revenues exceeded $500 million. Criteria included the strength of company military-recruiting efforts, the percentage of new hires with prior military service, retention programs, and company policies toward National Guard and Reserve service.

“We are extremely proud to be recognized on this list for the first time,” said Hormel CEO and President Jeff Ettinger. “Hormel Foods continues to benefit from the unique skills and experiences of our military veterans.”

Hormel was recognized for its support of military veterans and National Guard and Reserve members with its military recruitment. The recruitment program provides outreach and professional development opportunities for employees with military backgrounds and assists them with the transition from the military to a corporate culture. Hormel will also offer internal training courses through its military and veterans employee resource group, which is designed to assist in transitioning military veterans.
