Alumni Update: Benson starting strong at St. Cloud

Jessica Benson, a 2009 Grand Meadow grad, has emerged as the top scorer (15.8 points per game) and rebounder (7 rebounds per game) after the first four games of the season for Division II St. Cloud State University.

Benson poured in 20 points and grabbed 12 rebounds in a 69-55 win over Jamestown College.

The Huskies (4-0 overall) have won all four of their games by at least 14 points.

Matt Zellmer, a 2009 Blooming Prairie grad, has finally cracked the starting lineup at Luther College where he is averaging 2.8 points and 1.3 rebounds in four starts for the Luther (3-1 overall).

Connor Gunderson, a 2010 Austin grad, has started the first three games for St. Olaf College and he’s off to a hot start as he’s shooting 65 percent (17-for-26) from the field.

Gunderson is averaging 13.3 points and 4.3 rebounds for St. Olaf (1-2 overall).

Tanner Kramer, a 2010 Hayfield grad, has played in all four games for Wartburg College (2-2 overall) and he’s averaged 2.5 points per game, while hitting 33 percent (2-for-6) of his threes.
