2 injured in crash near Blooming Prairie

BLOOMING PRAIRIE — Two Twin Cities residents went to Mayo Clinic Health System in Austin Sunday night after a two-car crash on U.S. 218 several miles south of Blooming Prairie.

Mario L. Jones, 33, of Brooklyn Center and his passenger Kassandra K. Meyer, 25, of Minneapolis, were northbound on Highway 218 in a Pontiac Grand Prix when they were struck by another vehicle. Nancy Schwartz, 60, of Blooming Prairie, was traveling eastbound on 305th Street in a Ford Fusion before she collided with their vehicle, according to the Minnesota State Patrol. She was not injured.

The crash was reported at 5:06 p.m. Alcohol was not a factor in the crash, according to the state patrol’s report.
