United Way seeking donors

Published 5:57pm Saturday, November 17, 2012

The United Way of Mower County is looking for dedicated, engaged donors interested in volunteering to serve on a community investment panel. The United Way has four panels centered around education, income, health and basic needs.

Panel members read grant applications, listen to presentations and allocate funds for individual programs. Several meeting times in February and March have yet to be set.

Those interested or who want more information on the investment process can contact United Way at 437-2313, united@smig.net or go to uwmower.org.

You must be a current donor to the United Way of Mower County to be a community investment panelist.

Funny how the United Way discriminates against those it sets out to serve. If someone can’t afford to donate they are not a good volunteer or can’t represent the area well?
