Starting today and going through Saturday, the Austin Public Library is holding its semi-annual book sale. We encourage everyone to stop by and find a good book.

The library relies on book donations from the public, which it then resells to fund many of its educational programs, speakers and supplies throughout the year.

The sale takes place until 5 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday. A $5 bag sale will also be held from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Saturday. Besides $2 hardcovers, $1 children/teens’ hardcovers and 50 cent paperback books, there are also VHS tapes and cassettes for a quarter apiece. And with more people moving away from printed books and towards e-readers, there may be some additional gems.

The library says there are thousands of books available, and something for every taste. Stop by, find a book, and support the library. It’s a win-win.
