Funeral services for Richard Voeltz will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 13, 2012, at First Baptist Church, 304 4th Street NW, Kasson, MN with Pastor Dale Phelps officiating. Burial will take place at Spring Valley Cemetery in Spring Valley, Minn. Visitation will be at First Baptist Church in Kasson Friday, Oct. 12, 2012, from 5 to 8 p.m.

Richard “Dick” Donald Voeltz, 68

Richard “Dick” Donald Voeltz, 68, lost his battle with lung cancer Sunday, Oct. 7, 2012, at his home in Kasson, Minn. with his wife and daughters at his side, passing into the loving arms of his Lord and Savior.

Richard was born on December 8, 1943 in Austin, MN to his parents Maynard and Frances (Krahn) Voeltz. He grew up in Spring Valley, Minn. and attended Spring Valley High School graduating in 1962. Following graduation, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corp, proudly serving his country from 1962 to 1966, and was a veteran of the Vietnam War.

Richard was employed at Land ’O Lakes in Pine Island, Minn. and in April of 2012 he retired after 38 years.

Richard enjoyed all aspects of the outdoors, from riding his motorcycle to deer hunting, spending time on his pontoon to fireside nights on his patio. He adored his grandchildren and was usually present at athletic events, concerts, school programs and special occasions, and was an avid photographer on the sidelines. Richard was a devoted husband, father and grandfather, and had a unique and special friendship with his family, friends, neighbors and co-workers.

Richard is survived by his wife Pamela of Kasson, Minn.; daughters Kimberly (Voeltz) Pechman of Lakewood, Colo.; Elisa Voeltz (Craig Bruske) of Pine Island, Minn.; Amanda Voeltz of Pine Island, Minn; step-sons Jerry Laufle of Rochester, Minn.; and Robert Laufle (Elisha Costello) of New Salem, Pa.; grandchildren Adam, Neva, Haylee, Isabelle, and Taren, step-grandchildren Brittany, Austin, Andrew, Destini, Ben, and Spencer, brothers Robert (Renata) Voeltz of Spring Valley, Minn.; David (Christine) of Wykoff, Minn.; and Dennis (Debbie) Voeltz of Lanesboro, Minn.; sisters Patricia Doering of Wykoff, Minn.; and Sheila Rodgers of Clarks Grove, Minn.

He was preceded in death by his parents Maynard and Frances (Krahn) Voeltz, a sisterBarbara (Voeltz) Freyberger, and a daughter Cathy Ann Voeltz.
