Marjorie Hovland, 78 died at her home on Sunday, Sept. 30, 2012.

Marjorie Ann Pfeifer was born Jan. 9, 1934, in Owatonna, the daughter of Edward and Martha (Hrdlichka) Pfeifer. She graduated from Austin High School. She was married to Dean O. Hovland on April 7, 1958, at St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Austin. Marjorie worked as an Administrative Assistant for the Production Credit Association in Austin for many years. She was a member of St. Olaf Lutheran Church and she enjoyed reading. Her husband was a member of a band and she and the other wives often traveled with the band for their weekend engagements.

Marjorie is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law; Dana Edward and Annette Hovland, Faribault; Troy Dean and Cindy Hovland, Owatonna; Darrin Lee Hovland, St. Paul; Grandchildren: Andrew, Ian, Dylan and Dalton; Sister: Martha Gallaher, Sioux Falls, S.D.; Brother: Eugene Pfeifer, Austin; Nieces and Nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 5, 2012, at Clasen-Jordan Mortuary with Pastor Bill Odermann officiating. Friends may greet the family from 1 p.m. until the time of the service on Friday and at a reception following the service.
