Deer shatters car window, injures driver

A confused deer sent an Austin man to the hospital Tuesday morning after it smashed through the driver’s side window of his vehicle.
The 42-year-old driver was in his delivery vehicle at Austin’s 17th Avenue and Eighth Street NE intersection at 8 a.m. Tuesday when the deer ran into the window, shattered it and sent shards of glass into the driver’s face.
Gold Cross employees took the driver to Mayo Clinic Health System in Austin where he was treated for a cut above his right eye.
