ADAMS — The Southland football team lost to Chatfield (4-0 overall) 24-6 in Adams Friday.

The Rebels (2-2 overall) pulled to within 10-6 when Jackson Koenigs ran an interception back 35 yards for a touchdown but Chatfield’s Jacob Neis ran the ensuing kick 90 yards back to the three-yard line.

Southland was playing the game without five starters.

“We’re not the same team we have been in past years. We’re young and inexperienced,” Southland Shawn Kennedy said. “We have so many key guys beat up, but Chatfield’s got a great football team too.”
