Commissioners to move forward on LEC remodel

The Mower County Board will likely fine-tune the cost of the Government Center and Law Enforcement Center remodel Tuesday.

During the board’s meeting, slated to start at 9:30 a.m., the board will hear an update on the roughly $5.4 million project, and the board will discuss the project plan and what bid alternates to move ahead on.

The project is slated to go out for bids early next year.

—Community Health Director Lisa Kocer will give a health update, and the board will discuss grants for childhood immunizations and early hearing detection and birth defects. Kocer and the board are also scheduled to discuss a community health survey.

—The board will make a recommendation on how to fill a vacancy left by the resignation of Assessor Rich Peterson.

—Justin Hanson will discuss a 2013 Minnesota Board of Water & Soil Resources Natural Resources block grant.

—Before the county board meeting, the board will hold its annual employee recognition breakfast.
